Alliance between VMI Group and Celsa
Last week, both Celsa France and Van Merksteijn International (VMI group) via Intersig France, have signed a strategic alliance for the development of the French reinforcing market. This agreement will allow both companies to significantly increase their business in the French reinforcing and construction market.
VMI group, the largest European independent manufacturer of steel wires, will extend its production in France (since over 10 years located in Saint Pourçain-sur-Sioule), via its new production facility VMI Atlantic, located in Bayonne. VMI Atlantic is installing a completely new production plant near the steel and rolling mill of Celsa France in Bayonne to produce rebar on coil (under the registered name: Flex Wire).
With this agreement Van Merksteijn/Intersig guarantees sustainable and efficient deliveries of final reinforcement end products to its clients in the French market. The group portfolio includes wire on coil, reinforcement mesh (including ECO and ECO+ mesh), lattice girders, spacers and fencing products.
